A Novel Method for Screening Arabidopsis Mutants in silico based on Statistical Modeling

چکیده
Computational phenomics becomes more important in the remarkable advance of functional genomics. For the research of functional genomics, to establish the high-throughput phenotypic screening system is a matter of vital importance. Towards the high-throughput screening system, we have proposed a novel methodology of the phenotypic analysis which is based on the 3-dimensional(3D) model reconstruction via surface measurement by the Laser Range Finder(LRF) and the computational extraction of morphological traits on the 3D reconstructed model[3]. Several conventional studies of mutant screens depend on visual observation of digital images[2][5]. However, visual observation is insufficient for the detection of subtle changes and may cause subjective bias. Thus we propose a novel method of in silico phenotypic mutant screens by applying statistical modeling using gaussian mixtures and parameter estimation method to quantified traits. In this report, we attempt an experiment of the proposed mutant screening method to investigate its effectiveness.

The hydrophobic proteins of plant plasma membrane still remain largely unknown. For example in the Arabidopsis genome, receptor-like kinases (RLKs) are plasma membrane proteins, functioning as the primary receptors in the signaling of stress conditions, hormones and the presence of pathogens form a diverse family of over 610 genes. A limited number of these proteins have appeard in pr...

A set of Xanthohumol derivatives were selected and molecular docking studies of these compounds on thioredoxin reductase were conducted. Based on new structural patterns using in silico-screening study, new potent lead compounds were designed. The results due to validated docking protocols lead to find that Thr58, Gly57, Gly21, Asp334, Glu163, Ala130, IIe332, Val44 and Gly132 are the main a...

متن کاملStatistical Background Modeling Based on Velocity and Orientation of Moving Objects
Background modeling is an important step in moving object detection and tracking. In this paper, we propose a new statistical approach in which, a sequence of frames are selected according to velocity and direction of some moving objects and then an initial background is modeled, based on the detection of gray pixel's value changes. To have used this sequence of frames, no estimator or distribu...
